Ricki Lake, Poker Celebrity!

I admit it: for some reason I was skeptical when it came to Ricki Lake as a Texas Holdem player. But after seeing her play, my mind was changed; she seems to have a genuine poker playing ability, and I was impressed. Losing the game to Kevin Nealon when she was a 95% favourite before the River has got to sting a little.

Like Neil Patrick Harris playing Doogie Howser, everyone remembers Ricki for one thing: the awful, abysmal Ricki Lake Show, which set a new standard for white trash talk show guests. It's unfortunate that she isn't better remembered for her earlier roles, particularly in John Waters' films like "Hairspray" with Deborah Harry and Sonny Bono, and "Crybaby" alongside Johnny Depp and Traci Lords, which were trashy as well, but they were trashy on purpose.
