Ince, Poker Celebrity!
Paul Emerson Carlyle Ince was born on October 21, 1967 in Ilford,
England, and grew up with his aunt in Dagenham. Ince was spotted
by West Ham coach John Lyall when he was 12, and signed for
the Hammers as a YTS trainee at the age of 14.
Paul Ince was an authoritative midfield marshal
and became known as "The Governor". In his extensive career
Paul Ince played for West Ham, Manchester United, Inter Milan,
Liverpool, Middlesbrough and latterly Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Back in 1989, Manchester United paid £1 million for Paul Ince
cost, but in 1995 they transferred him to Inter Milan for £8
million. His performances in Manchester earned him a call up
to the England squad, and the captainship. In 1993, Paul Ince
became the first black England captain (in a match against USA).
Professionally, his time at Milan was highly successful,
and he returned to England in 1997 to join Liverpool. He was
appointed captain, and wasted no time making himself indispensable
to the team. He has represented England on numerous occasions
and has been capped 53 times, including the European Cup in
1996 and 1998 World Cup Finals. After England's disappointing
performance in Euro 2000, he called it a day for his international
career and has taken up poker.
