Stevens , Poker Celebrity!
Matthew Stevens was born in Carmarthen, Wales on September 11,
1977. Stevens has become a professional snooker player that
has consistently been in the top 10 snooker players for over
five years. Stevens turned professional in 1994 and has failed
to convert consistently excellent snooker into victories in
ranking events. Matthew has reached number 6 in the world rankings
in 2000. In 2003, Stevens broke his duck in ranking events,
with victory in the Travis Perkins UK Championship, defeating
Stephen Hendry 10-8 in the final. In 2000 Stevens narrowly lost
out to fellow Welshman Mark Williams in the World Championship
final.
Like a lot of his fellow professional snooker
players he has been seen on television turning his hand to poker,
and has won a major poker tournament.
